Confluence Clean-Up August 14
Confluence Clean-Up Presented by Rotary Club of Defiance, Meet at Pontiac Park.
Help our community beautify our rivers by joining us in cleaning up trash and debris. Come with your boat, canoe, rowboat or kayak. Most of the clean-up will need to be done from the water so the more boats the better! Pedestrian volunteers are also needed along shallow riverbank areas.
Wear appropriate clothing including sturdy shoes, layers, and work gloves
Bring a fishing net!
Trash grabbers will be provided
We will have tarps to protect your boat but feel free to bring your own
Gloves are available
The “Follow the Blue Blazes” Hike was held on July 17
A group hike was held along the Maumee following the Buckeye Trail /North Country Trail. Defiance County Commissioners and local residents gathered to support Dain Sutton who has set the record as the youngest person to solo hike the Buckeye Trail in a season.
Due to weather conditions and high water levels, the following events were CANCELLED for 2021:

Defiance RiverFest was established in 2016 to educate residents on the importance of our area waterways, to encourage protection and conservation of natural resources, and to celebrate the beauty and recreational opportunities they provide.
