The first Riverfront Gathering was held on Friday, August 5th. Designed to be an event that puts focus on our local rivers, planners of the event from Defiance Soil and Water Conservation District, the City of Defiance and DDVB planned an evening at Pontiac Park that was open to the public.
The event featured several boating activities that allowed participants to experience the river from a new perspective. Pontoon Boat rides were provided on a first come, first serve basis throughout the evening by the Tri-State Watershed Alliance. State Park guided kayak trips were launched from Pontiac Park. In addition the public was invited to bring their own non-motorized river vessels to join in the fun.
